WHY A'DAM
FOCUS ON PURPOSE
I work exclusively with people and brands making a positive impact on society and the planet. I am a member of a number of movements championing sustainable business.
EXPERTISE
I have worked with major global brands, through to social enterprises and start-ups, both directly and via supporting various agencies. A'DAM was founded in 2016, built on 8 years in national media and 8 further years in award-winning communications agencies.
LEAN & FLEXIBLE
I operate with the impact of a big agency but with the responsiveness, accountability and costs of an individual. Work is led by Adam Stones, with additional team and partners drawn in for the bigger projects.
FULL SERVICE
Through the core services, and with the services provided by my expert partners, A'DAM offers a seamless, total communications support package, whether you need project or retained support, or extra in-house capacity.
SERVICES
If not us, then who?
If not now, then when?

STRATEGY
Translating business objectives into comprehensive communications strategies and plans. Or not there yet? Helping you with your business goals, internal structures and culture. I have helped build up start-ups and advised multinational corporations. Strategy can be project-based or company-wide, brand-building and multi-channel over time or tightly focused campaigns or thought leadership strategies.
BRANDING
Building a brand from scratch or fine-tuning your business (or personal) brand.
Finding your Purpose, position and power and turning these unique qualities into a set of brand principles, key language and tone of voice that will provide the architecture for all your communications, internally and externally.
SKILLS
Masterclasses, skills workshops, and personal coaching to build communications capacity and competencies. Skills covered include: PR 101, personal branding, media interviews, public speaking, press office management, storytelling and writing skills. I have delivered training to CEOs, pan-Europe communications managers and changemakers just starting out.

DELIVERY
From big picture to hands-on, I oversee and deliver projects, whether media / stakeholder relations, campaign launches, issues management or filling channels with the marketing mix. I act as a standalone support or an extension of your team, and sometimes support in-house for periods.

ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Adam
When I moved to Amsterdam in 2016, I saw the city’s nickname, A’dam, everywhere. Sharing my name with a place bubbling with the spirit of creative enterprise inspired me to also choose that name for my business; a communications company that powers up people and brands with Purpose.
Before moving to a city situated below sea level (and therefore handily being reminded everyday of the urgency of the transition to a sustainable economy) I lived in London. I was a national newspaper and magazine journalist before moving to PR and communications 11 years ago. I have won awards for both journalism and PR.
I am fascinated by the art of communications; how the right message to the right person can change behaviours, and change the world. And I am energised by the opportunity to keep refining this skill in all my work.
I do continue to write (see my books below) and occasionally take on journalism commissions on communications trends, social issues or cycling. I am also called on to comment on these subjects at events or in the media, appearing in international titles, including BBC online, Fast Company, Entrepreneur and the World Economic Forum stories.
Cycling has been a big part of my life since I pedaled across the USA in 2004 and found on those long roads my own purpose - to use the power of writing and communications to affect positive change. This led to the book The Limey Project.
I am a Fellow of the RSA, I support Creatives for Climate and I have publicly signed the Creative Climate Disclosure, pledging to only work on projects that affect change, and to disclose any climate conflicts.
I work part time, providing (even if I say so myself) Grade A daddy daycare for part of the week to the cutest little toddler in the world. Fact.
So… coffee?
I was honoured to provide this TEDx on how cycling transforms people and places.
